Umwelt Seeks Project Administrator
Umwelt provides a broad range of environmental consulting services to mining, industry, government and private organisations throughout Australia and has offices based in Toronto, New South Wales and Perth, Western Australia.
The Umwelt team provides services for multidisciplinary projects and includes environmental scientists, archaeologists, ecologists and environmental engineers. These professionals are supported by our in-house graphics and administration teams for the production of high quality reports, presentations and other administrative tasks.

POSITION OVERVIEW
This position provides high level administrative support for Umwelt’s professional staff. It covers a wide range of administrative tasks but is focused mainly upon word processing of complex documents, including multi-volume reports, proposals, working papers, minutes of meetings, correspondence, etc (both hard copy and electronic files). Responsibilities also include assisting the project teams to manage the printing, collation, and presentation of reports for distribution to clients, community representatives and government agencies. While all documents must be presented in accordance with company styles and templates, this role will expand upon and look for opportunities to develop the presentation standard of reports.
It is envisaged that this role will also step up to the Administration Supervisor position during periods of leave.
The position will report to the Administration Supervisor.
DUTIES OF POSITION
- Word processing tasks, including edits, formatting and typing, of a variety of documents from letters and proposals to large, complex, multi-volume reports as required in accordance with the Administration Checklist supplied with tasks.
- Look for opportunities using desk top publishing skills to develop the presentation style of reports, letters and other communication material.
- Preparation of reports and letters in pdf format.
- Undertake data entry, mail merge tasks and PowerPoint presentations as required.
- Coordination of efficient document production in liaison with project managers.
- Other Project Administration tasks as required by Project Managers. This may include assistance with collation of monthly reporting schedules and budget tracking as required.
- Provide backup for the Administration Supervisor in times of leave and peak workloads.
- Provide clerical and administrative support as directed by the Administration Supervisor.
- Assistance and training to other admin staff as required.
SKILLS
- Excellent experience in word processing large complex documents with advanced computer literacy skills in Microsoft Word.
- Well developed knowledge of grammar and ability to identify errors and inconsistencies in documents.
- Excellent experience in desk top publishing applications
- Excellent interpersonal skills, both oral and written, with the ability to deal tactfully and effectively with people at all levels.
- Excellent organisational ability and time management skills.
- Ability to prioritise work for yourself and others in the administration team in order to meet deadlines.

- experience in development and implementation of environmental management systems including environmental management plans and operation procedures, facilitation of environmental risk assessments for industry and the development and delivery of environmental awareness training packages;
- Environmental Auditor accreditation and experience
- preparation of reports to suit a range of stakeholder information needs such as regulatory authorities and community;
- experience in both government and community stakeholder liaison;

- Relevant tertiary qualifications

Senior Environmental Scientist – Rehabilitation and Closure Planning
Our operational support and closure team provides valuable assistance to clients in regards to the development and implementation of practical environmental management solutions.
This senior position involves management and involvement in a range of environmental management support services in the mining, industry, and infrastructure development sectors. This includes the development and implementation of environmental management systems and procedures, environmental auditing, facilitation of risk assessments and statutory environmental reporting.
Most specifically, we are seeking an experienced and motivated professional to assist us in expanding our closure and rehabilitation planning services.

Senior Archaeologists
We have a strong reputation for achieving quality archaeology outcomes on complex and major projects across a range of sectors including mining and extractive industries, major infrastructure, regional planning and natural resource management studies, servicing regional, national and international clients.
We require full time Senior Archaeologists to join our team of 10 archaeologists in our Toronto office. The majority of the work to be undertaken by the successful applicants will be related to the management of Aboriginal cultural heritage, however, opportunity can also be provided to work in Historic Heritage.
Umwelt expects that the applicants for the position of Senior Archaeologist will hold a Degree in Archaeology and preferably (but not necessarily) have successfully completed Honours in Archaeology or an associated field such as Anthropology or Aboriginal Studies. To fulfill the position of a Senior Archaeologist it would be expected that the applicants will have a number of years experience in the field of consultancy and that they will have throughout their career undertaken a wide range of projects and project types related specifically to the management of Aboriginal cultural heritage such as:
