Planning For The Future Of The Shoalhaven City Coastline

Shoalhaven City Council is preparing a comprehensive management plan for the entire coastal zone of the City, stretching 165 km from Shoalhaven Heads to North Durras.
Council’s coastal management responsibilities include land use zoning, development assessment, management of parks and reserves, beach safety, emergency services, vegetation management and waste management. The intent of the Shoalhaven City Coastline Management Plan is to ensure that the Shoalhaven coastline’s natural beauty is protected and that its social and economic assets continue to provide major benefits for the City. ![]() NEW Shoalhaven Coastline Management issues and options May 2008 COASTAL MANAGEMENT PLAN COMMUNITY WORKSHOPS Management activities address coastal hazards (such as storm erosion, inundation, geotechnical hazards, invasive species and climate change) and risks such as loss of biodiversity, impacts on scenic values, community access to beaches and headlands for recreation, impacts on property and development planning, cultural heritage and coastal amenity.
