Umwelt is pleased to announce that four of our ecologists are now Accredited BAM Assessors under the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.

Allison Riley, Kate Connolly, Shaun Corry and Ryan Parsons have successfully completed the required accreditation training and have been determined by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage to be appropriately experienced to undertake biodiversity assessments using the Biodiversity Assessment Methodology (BAM).  You can view their profiles here:

A further three of our ecologists have completed the training are expecting accreditation in coming weeks. Following this, Umwelt will have one of largest Accredited BAM Assessor teams in NSW available to prepare Biodiversity Development Assessment Reports and Biodiversity Stewardship Site Assessment Reports for developments and proposed in-perpetuity conservation areas, respectively. All assessments undertaken under the BAM must be signed off by an Accredited BAM Assessor in accordance with the Biodiversity Conservation Act 2016.

Umwelt also has one of the largest teams of Accredited BioBanking, Biodiversity Certification and FBA Assessors under the now repealed Threatened Species Conservation Act 1995, who can assist with ongoing projects that fall within the transitional arrangements of the legislation.
