Growing our Spatial team

We are pleased to welcome our new Principal Spatial Consultant, Nathan Thompson to Umwelt’s Spatial & Visualisation team. Nathan has an applied background in natural resource management, design & visualisation, as well as data, computing and spatial sciences. He is passionate about spatial information, spatial systems, and their application and integration within enterprise.

Nathans spatial career spans almost 20 years and includes environmental consultancy, international expatriate engagement, national/state/municipal government work as well as Geographic Information System (GIS) consultancy. His domain knowledge includes specialisation in environment, mining, planning, the utilities sector and software development particularly in relation to GIS.

His focus at Umwelt is the daily coordination of the Spatial and Visualisation team across numerous projects and continued delivery of high quality cartographic mapping and spatial data management services, while driving the implementation of a new ESRI Enterprise GIS architecture. This new GIS architecture will deliver enhanced Desktop, Web, & Field GIS functionality to support our specialist consultants and clients now and into the future.
