Senior Water Resources Engineer – Newcastle, NSW

Reporting to the Principal Water Engineer, this role requires technical and project management responsibilities for water resources engineering projects. You will manage, coordinate and support the application of water engineering, environmental studies, and investigations undertaken by Umwelt, and provide a critical interface between internal project teams and key client contacts.

Ideally, you will bring to the role:

  • Knowledge of areas such as surface water impact assessment, water quality analysis, water management system design, flooding and drainage assessment, water balance, and erosion and sediment control.
  • Extensive project and consulting experience – particularly in relation to water resources engineering projects.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • Ability to effectively liaise with clients, authorities, and other stakeholders as required.

Water Resources Engineer (Flood Modelling) – Newcastle, NSW

Reporting to the Team Manager, we are seeking an experienced engineer with a demonstrated background in flood modelling and report/proposal writing. You will undertake both technical and project management roles in surface water impact assessment, flooding and drainage assessment, conceptual water management system design, preparation of water management plans, water quality assessment, water balance preparation and erosion and sediment control.

Ideally, you will bring to the role:

  • Expertise in hydrologic and hydraulic investigations, flood impact and risk assessment, and associated report writing.
  • Experience using hydrologic and hydraulic modelling software.
  • Strong verbal and written skills.
  • A strong focus on providing high quality and technically robust services and advice to both internal and external clients.
